Stampin' Celebration #46

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #46

Love that top right photo. I had full intentions of going with those colours but I had too much fun playing with the Brights Collection that I used for my card for Stampin' Royalty that it flowed into this card. Love these bold colours. I started with my 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch to make the accordion flowers. I added a flower from the Boho Blossoms Punch and topped it off with a Flower Designer Brad. I backed it all on to a piece of Cork that I tore off. (I will be playing with this again very soon!) The cork layer is glued to the Old Olive layer that I stamped Baroque Motifs on. My sentiment comes from the hostess level 2 set, Something To Celebrate. I chopped every letter up and then glued them on to a Modern Label Punch in a bit of a disheveled manner for something different.Hope you were inspired! Come and play along with us at Stampin' Celebration. There are some amazing cards from the rest of the DT that you need to check out. See you there!

Stampin' Royalty #65

Get out yer guns! That is Heat guns. It is time for embossing with Stampin' Royalty!I started this card with another great sketch from Stampin' 411 #196 and flipped it on it's side. The first thing I did was clear emboss the owl image from Punch Bunch all around the outside edges of the dsp. It's tough to see it but it looks neat in real life. Next I also clear embossed every layer of the owl for the paperclip/bookmark/fridge magnet. I love cards that carry a gift! A gift card in the true sense!Check out what the rest of the design team did with their heat guns and then get your own out and link up your creation. Ingredients for this card:

Colours: Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise

Stamps: Punch Bunch, So Happy For You

Accessories: 1 1/2" Striped Daffodil Delight Ribbon, 3/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon, 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon, Brights Button Collection, Basic Rhinestones

Simple Saturday #5

Got any leftover snippets of ribbon that aren't long enough for anything???

I have a ton! Well here is a perfect use for them. Collect a few different ones and line 'em up on a card! Add a sentiment and voila! What a fun card and hopefully you got rid of some scraps. Rhinestones are the perfect finishing touch and if you use your Paper Piercer to put them on, you'll be finished this card in under 10 minutes.
This card took only 2 minutes. One single stamp (from the Bliss stamp set which you can get for free with a $60 order) and tie your piece of ribbon in a knot. Adhere it with glue dots or I find Sticky Strip does the trick in this case. There you have it quick, cute and simple in 2 minutes.

So glad you stopped by for my Simple Saturday. Have a great day!

Big Shot Night

I had a class last night for the last group of ladies to buy their Big Shot. I decided to make one project and pack it full of techniques! Here is what we made.
My favourite techniques has always been to ink up my texture plates and also sizzlits! We also played a little with fabric for some added fun. Wow, that Multipurpose Big Shot Adhesive Sheets work well and you get 12 sheets in a pack. It turns anything into a sticker. Very cool!!!
If you want to join us for the next class drop me an email at hands76@hotmail.com

Stampin' Celebration #45

Celebration time! Check it out!
Love these colours together. Black, White and Crumb Cake. These spell E-L-E-G-A-N-C-E!

I think I found my mojo with this one. I was very please how it turned out. First off I used Card Patterns Sketch # 107. Great sketch! I started with the swirl image from Elements Of Style and them embossed it with the Square Lattice Folder.
The next layer has the Double Stitched Ribbon Punch peaking out the sides with Basic Black 5/8" Satin Ribbon ruffled in the middle and then White Organza Ribbon over top.
For the focal point I used this image from Notably Ornate. I stamped it on Black c/s and embossed it in white. Then I cut it out and cut out the inside too. I stamped my sentiment from All Holidays on Whisper White c/s and mounted it underneath the black on dimensionals. The final touch is a double bow in the White Organza Ribbon, held together with an Antique Brad. (I go through these like candy!)

Hope you've been inspired. I sure was, and if you need more inspiration, please check out the gorgeous creations by the Stampin' Celebration design team here.

Stampin' Royalty #65

We have a sketch for you this week at Stampin' Royalty. Check it out!

I got caught off guard with this one. I have to say I was stumped. Well, lucky for me I had these Pixie Stix starring me in the face on my desk. I figured why not make a kids card and see how I could incorporate them. I struggled a bit finding current c/s to match but managed to make some dsp from the Brights Collection work. In order to get some green in there I took my Hemp Twine and coloured with a Stampin' Write Marker.

Of course the funnest part of the card is the Game Spinner Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini.

Hope you can play along. Check out the cards from the rest of the design team here.

Technique Club

I am so excited to share this with you today. I saw the technique of the inside of this card at regionals in Vancouver a few weeks back and couldn't wait to try it out so I am teaching it tonight at my monthly technique club. I can't remember the name of the lady that demonstrated this technique but if anyone knows who she is, please let me know so I can give her proper credit.
The card uses Easter Blossoms Stamp Set, The Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric from the Occasions Mini. Check it out here.
I've entered this card in Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspired By Nature Inspiration Challenge #59.

Simple Saturday #4

"Say it again Sam!"

Don't be afraid to use more than one sentiment on your card. There is a wonderful birthday set in the catalogue called On Your Birthday and it is filled with a ton of birthday sentiments. So all I did was pull a bunch out and picked out my fave and stamped it with Rose Red first. Then I filled in the empty space with the rest of the stamps in Pretty In Pink.
For this second card I pulled out all my stamp sets that had a thank you sentiment and used them all. Once again starting with my favourite and stamping it with Pacific Point and the rest stamped in Tempting Turquoise.
Other products I used on these cards are:
-Scallop Border Punch
-Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon
-Stampin-Ma-Jig

Have a great weekend.

Stampin' Celebration #44

Look at what we are celebrating today at Stampin' Celebration.
These things say beauty and elegance to me. The colours are warm and inviting. I decided I would make a little gift box after viewing the photos and spotting the box in the corner with the bow on it. I used the Matchbox Die and added an easel card on top of it. I decorated the box with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then added 3/8" Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon and a piece of Vanilla Hodgepodge as by drawer pull.

For the card I started with the Little Leaves Sizzlit and sponged it with Champagne Shimmer Paint. Next using Tombow I added a little bit of Gold Glass Glitter to the tips of the leaves. I added some Rosettes which I painted using my Aqua Painter and Daffodil Delight Ink and then sprayed with the Champagne Shimmer Paint. The Rosettes were finished off with Basic Pearls.
I used another piece of Vanilla Hodgepodge to host my sentiment from Clearly For You. So often I forget about things like the hodgepodge but when I remember them I love the way they look on my projects.
Head on over to Stampin' Celebration to see the other beautiful things created by the talented Design Team! Have a great day!

Stampin' Royalty #63

Let's get touchy feely! That is texture wise!

This week at Stampin' Royalty we are challenging you to get out your embossing plates, folders or anything else that's gets some texture on your project.

I pulled out my Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder and and used it on some Vellum. Then I flipped it over and used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour it in from the back side. Next I sponged a little bit of Cherry Cobbler on the front to soften up the appearance.
I haven't used my Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding since Christmas so thought I'd pull it out once again for a change. I put my bow together with an Antique Brad and hung a Mini Vintage Tag with a sentiment from You're A Gem in the Occasions Mini.
I even added a little texture to the inside. It sure dresses it up.
Stop by Stampin' Royalty to get a little more touchy feely!

Pastel Easter Eggs

I had a few ideas in my head today and had time to try and play them out. The cards didn't turn out quite the way I had envisioned them but I am still pleased with the turn out. The first I did for Pals Paper Arts Challenge #84 and Used the colours from Paper Players Challenge #38. The 2 went together well because PPA is looking for something Easter/Spring and the colours Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze from Paper Players were perfect for my Easter Egg.
I made a mask of an egg and then clear embossed an image from Baroque Motifs inside the mask. I then sponged the 2 colours and then sprayed the egg with Champagne Shimmer Paint.
The egg is so pretty just the way it was but you can imagine how much prettier it is with all the sparkle. The sentiment is from Something To Celebrate, the hostess level 2 set in the Occasions Mini.
For my second card I used Colour Throwdown #132 and Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #59. The egg image is from the set Easter Blossoms. Once again I embossed the eggs with Clear Emboss and this time I sponged them with Baja Breeze and Bashful Blue and then filled in the rest with Daffodil Delight.
The ribbons are 3/8" Bashful Blue Taffeta and 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta. I added some fabric from Springtime Vintage for a bit of design. Once again I used the same sentiment as the card above.
It was fun to play with some pastels today. Hope you enjoyed your visit. Have a great day.

Simple Saturday #4

This Saturday I am letting the paper do the work here. Stampin' Up has so much great, great Designer Paper that I decided to let the paper do the talking. Nothing but a sentiment and a simple embellishment to dress it up.
The dsp for this first one is from the SAB set called Ice Cream Parlor. The ribbon is Early Espresso 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon. The sentiment is from Word Play.
The second card uses dsp from the pack called Sweet Stitches in the Occasions Mini.
Lastly, this dsp is called Elegant Soiree. I dressed up the paper with some Basic Pearls. The sentiment is from Elements Of Style.
Have a great weekend!

Crafting Not Of The Paper Species

Well maybe just a little paper involved. My daughter's school is getting ready for their Spring fair. One of the booths is a spin the wheel and win a jar. The kids are supposed to fill a jar and decorate it. Then at the fair people will spin a wheel and get the chance to pick a jar. Now apparently no one in my daughter's class has actually made a jar yet so my daughter decided we were going to pick up the slack.
My favourites are these rockets filled with rockets!
Recognize the fabric on these two?!?
I was starting to run out of ideas and things to fill a jar with so I called it quits here. But after making these I checked my emails and discovered the deadline has been extended. Maybe we'll come up with some more ideas over the weekend.
Got any ideas???

Stampin' Celebration #43

Looks like we are celebrating a little more St. Patty at Stampin' Celebration this week. Check out our photo inspiration.
Don't those cupcakes look yummy??? My mouth was watering. Maybe I was just a little too hungry at the moment I made this card cause I didn't make just one cupcake, not even just 2, I needed 5! I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #107 to host these yummy cupcakes.
I used the sentiment from All Holidays because despite the fact that this is technically a St. Patrick's Day card, I don't know who I would send it to. This way I can send this yummy green and brown cupcake card to a friend who needs a little caring!
Hope you find a reason to make a card today. Don't forget to check out the rest of the design team's creations.

Stampin' Royalty #62

We are going "green" this week at Stampin' Royalty. Get out your greens and get to work. Cards, scrapbook pages, 3-d projects, whatever your thing is, use green and play along.

I saw a card similar to this last St. Patrick's Day and have been waiting a year to try it out. Shaped cards are so much fun and the shape is half the detail so I tried not to overdo it.The hearts for the clover are the Heart To Heart Punch and the Small Heart Punch. The faux ribbon is cardstock embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder and then pierced with a Designer Flower Brad. My sentiment is from So Happy For You once again. I seem to be using this set alot. I guess that is because it's so versatile and you don't have to have it stamped perfectly straight in order for it to look good. Which makes it so easy to use!

Make sure you check out the rest of the work from the design team and have fun stamping.

Dad's Birthday

My dad turns the big 65 tomorrow! I had the perfect card in mind and then it tured out I didn't have the stamp set I wanted to use yet. How funny is that. You'd think I would know what I have and don't have. Anyways it was the set with all the tools. My dad has worked with wood his whole life and that set would have been perfect. In fact he is the reason I want that set. Well, I don't have it so on to something a little different.

I used Pals Paper Arts Colour Challenge #83 and Card Patterns #105 for the sketch. I saw a card that Carrie Gaskin made with the happy birthday hanging off the h and b and thought that looked really neat. You can see I incorporated the wood theme a little with the wood grain. Now after I finished the card I had a really good laugh because every good carperter's daughter and wife of a mechanic knows that wrenches are for mechanics and not carpenters!!! lol! Now you know why I wanted that set. It has a hammer! We'll just have to pretend for now.I think I made up for it though with this next card.

We had a Backyardigans theme birthday last week with my daughter and Tyron, one of the characters, is a moose. My dad is also a hunter of deer, moose, elk...! Perfect! Let's make a moose card my daughter and I decided.

It has a bit of a pop for extra fun.
So glad you stopped by. Have a great day!
