Paper Players Blog Hop

Welcome to the Paper Players blog hop!
You probably arrived here from Lesley's blog and I'm sure she had something wonderful to share with you.
We all have some great projects to share with you plus still our usual challenge to go with it.

The challenge this week is Anything Goes!
I have two cards and matching gifts to share with you today. I couldn't decide which to pick so I decided I'd share both!

The first uses the Build-A-Cupcake Punch and matching stamp set, Create A Cupcake. I made the card using the Scallop Square Die Cut and Nursery Suite DSP.

I made a fridge magnet to match with a close pin and the magnet sheets cut to size.

The second set uses the Blossoms Petal Punch and matching stamp set, Build A Blossom. I made this card with the Scallop Circle Die Cut and Sweet Stitches DSP.

The matching gift box is made with the Petal Cone Die and cut down a little so that it has a flat bottom. I filled it with some shredded tissue and chocolate treats.

Now what would a blog hop be with out some blog candy! I'm giving away a full roll of Pear Pizazz Ribbon that I used on my cupcake card plus that sweet fridge magnet to go with it. To be eligible you will need to leave me a comment and become a follower of my blog. Don't forget to leave me an email where I can reach you.
Now head on over to Nance Leedy to see what she has got going on. Or if you are just joining us click on Anne-Marie Hile to start at the beginning of the hop.

Stampin' Celebration Challenge #37

It's Stampin' Celebration time again! Here is our photo inspiration for you this week.

There are so many ways you could go with these photos. Here is my take.
I pulled out the theme of a bird house. Well mine is not quite a bird house but there is his little hole in the tree and what's it filled with? Valentine goodies of course. That's why he is pink and red! Love that red glitter paper!

I used another empty embellishment container and turned it into this little gift holder by punching 2 holes with my Crop-A-Dile in the side and stringing a ribbon through them and tying a knot on the inside.

I also entered this in SUO Challenge #11. They were asking for Valentine creations.
Now head on over to Stampin' Celebration for more inspiration and check out what we are celebrating!

Stampin' Royalty #56

Hello ladies! This week at Stampin' Royalty we have a sketch for you!

I took it and flipped it. Not sure why I always feel the need to do that. Anyways, this is the last card I made when playing around with the Letterpress Plates. The first time I ever used them I inked it up with Versa Mark and then Clear Embossed it. See it here. Now about 2 months later, it dawned on me to use White Emboss and I can only say "WOW". Check it out.

Does this pop or what!?! It actually reminds me of a Coca Cola can. Nothing but goodness there!

I tried to keep the rest of the card on the simpler side but I can't seem to put ribbon on my cards in a straight line anymore. LOL!

So glad you stopped by. Make sure you head over to Stampin' Royalty to check out the creations from the rest of the Goddesses!

Another Lertterpress Card

This one has to be one of my faves of the bunch of cards that I made using all my samples of playing around with the new Texture Letterpress Plates.

I used classic ink this time, unlike like the last card I made for Pals Paper Arts where I used craft ink, but I still sprayed the plate with the Shimmer Paint before running it through the Big Shot. This time the sparkle is a little more evident and it didn't make the ink pool.

Here I got a better picture of the sparkle. You'll notice only the lettering is glittery. Kind of cool I thought.
Of course I had to add a little ruffle ribbon and a little more glitter. You can never have too much bling!

Come back tomorrow for one more way I tried to use the plates. You'll want to see it! Have a great day!

2 In 1 Day

Last week was so very crazy busy getting ready for both a big birthday party and my open house. I didn't get a whole lot of blogging done, let alone anything else. Now that that is done, on to the next thing. Tonight I am off to a demo meet and I am doing a small demonstration and I thought I would share a little with you too!

The technique uses the new Letterpress Plates. I'll admit I was not too thrilled to try them at first but only because they recommend using Craft Ink and I don't have a lot of Craft Ink. So I went a little outside the box to see what I could come up with.

In this first card I inked the plate up with Whisper White Craft ink, then quickly sprayed it with Shimmer Paint mixed with rubbing alcohol and then ran it through the Big Shot. I have to say the picture does not do it justice. The end result is quite pretty and sparkly. I tried to capture a bit of the sparkle for you to see but you will have to wait for a better photo pf it tomorrow.
The bottom layer was run through the Big Shot first with the Letterpress Plate and then again with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I also used a little of that same textured paper for the body of the little birds. I used Pals Paper Arts Sketch 77 to put this card together.

So next I tried something a bit messy and that was to wet my plate by spraying it with bleach. I tried just wiping it at first but that effect was alot less bold. I tried a number of different coloured cardstock till I came up with something I liked. Love how this turned out. I don't think you could get the same effect by just using Whisper White Craft Ink.

The background isn't as bold as the first card because I used Pretty In Pink which is a lot more subtle than Cherry Cobbler. But for this card it was enough. This card uses Create With Connie & Mary Sketch 134. I just flipped the sketch sideways.

Hope you like, however, I am not done sharing. I'll post more ways to use the plates tomorrow and Wednesday. See you later.

Stampin' Celebration #36

What a great week it was last week @ Stampin' Celebration. Thanks to all of you who played along with for our big PARTY week. We really enjoyed checking out all your cards.
This week we have another set of fantastic photos to inspire you.

I took one look and knew exactly what I was going to do. Lots of texture and nothing but brown and pink. Early Espresso and Pretty in Pink to be exact. I am loving these flowers from Easter Blossoms. I have used them a ton already.

Ruffled ribbons add even more texture and more ribbon is almost always in my recipe. This Taffeta Ribbon is so easy to work with. Even a small little bow. Top it all off with some Rhinestones and there you have it!
Hope you like! Make sure you head on over to Stampin' Celebration for some more great eye candy and join us by playing along.

Stampin' Royalty #54

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #55

This week the Stampin' Royalty Goddess's are challenging you to a recipe challenge. This week's challenge is...

ANYTHING WITH WINGS...

This theme was a breeze for me. Butterflies!!! However, what has had me a little stumped was what to do with all my old brad and button containers. I knew they could be useful. Well now they are a beautiful gift holder.
Adhere some paper around the container, mount them on scallop circles and decorate. Add a little paper confetti inside and they are ready for a little special gift such as a charm!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you head over to Stampin' Royalty for more inspiration and play along. See you later!

Valentine for PPA76

I am in full Valentine mode and Pals Paper Arts was looking for a one this week. I found a great card on the SU demonstrator's website Stampin' Connection by Pat Richardson (sorry, no link) who already cased it from someone else. (I love that we all share!?) The stamp set, Valentine Defined, has become a recent favourite of my.

But of course I can't leave well enough alone very often and I just had to put my own little spin on it. I wanted to use the new fantastic Red Glitter Paper.
I changed the Embossing Folder used on the background to Framed Tulips and the main image just screamed for the latest technique I've tried using your old dryer sheets.

Wouldn't you know it, I already have misplaced the sentiment from this set and so I changed things up a bit. This sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes originally says Happy Valentines Day but that would be just a bit boring so I threw a few hearts in the middle instead to say Happy "Heart" Day!

So glad you came by for a visit. Have a great day!

Stampin Royalty #54

Colour Challenge!

Love these colours. Some of my faves! Blue, purple and green. If you know me, these are my colours!

I just love how this card turned out. But I have to admit I had a little help. I always like to check out the people that sign up to follow me and Saturday was no different. I lady named Valita signed up and I hopped on over to her blog to check it out. Can you say wow! This lady has some amazing ideas flowering from her fingers. I found her posts where she created these hydrangeas using the heart punch. What do you know. Hydrangeas are my absolute favourite flower! I had to give these a try and I was not disappointed.

I also borrowed this layout from her as well. Let's just say, I was truly inspired by her work. So sign up to follow me! I'd love to check out your work!

Now you have to go check out the rest of the Stampin' Royalty's Design Team cards. There are some real stunners there! Hope you play along with us!

Card Patterns & JUGS

Card Patterns 97 had a great sketch this week that I wanted to give a go and so I decided to pull out one of the new stamp sets, Easter Blossoms, from the Occasions Mini and some of the new DSP, Springtime Vintage, to go with it.

Love these colours but I'm not sure if I over did it with all the different dsp. This is one of those times that a picture does not do a card justice. It looks to pretty in real life but in this photo it looks kinda busy.

I also went to JUGS and their challenge 66 this week was ENVY OF THE ENVIES (envelopes) which sounded fun but what I didn't really think about was that I made a 5 x 5 card and had no envelopes that size to decorate. So I had to make one from scratch. Turned out alright but I didn't like the flip side of the dsp for the inside so I slip another piece inside and then I stamped that sweet litttle girl once more.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Valentines For Technique Club

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Another perfect opportunity to show someone special how much you care. I've been working on these projects for club this next Sunday with the theme of Valentines. I wanted to play with the new Petal Cone Die Cut.

I used some of the new Builder Wheels, Butterfly Bliss and Pleasing Polka Dots, and the sentiment from Valentine Defined. My usual go-to stamp set, Baroque Motifs, is the swirl on the Close to Cocoa. Lots of fun ribbons, Satin, Taffeta and Linen Thread topped off with a Bitty Button. I know I'll find plenty of treats to fill this with the next time I head to the store. I've entered this in the challenge for Paper Players #28. Valentines Day!

Here is the card we will be making on Sunday. This is a new technique for me using your old dryer sheets!

Seemed strange but has quite a pretty effect. I will definitely be using this one again.

Glad you stopped by. Have a great day!
