It was such a change making this card. I didn't have to worry about getting my images dirty with the ink on my fingers. (Oh, let me count the number of times I have had to redo something because I messed it up with my dirty fingers.) I made this card specifically with my man in mind. His hands are always black and dirty. Even after ha has washed them! Everything he touches is black and dirty. And so this card will be black and dirty when he touches it but you and I will never know because that is the way I made it to be!!! Instead of gently sponging the edges for a soft feel, I literally smeared them with black ink to be rough and dirty looking.

I used versa mark, heat and stick and dazzling diamonds to create the sparkly backdrop for behind the rose and curly tag. I wanted to use this white organza ribbon but obviously it wouldn't show up on white, so I slipped the new black satin ribbon in behind it. It all had the effect I was looking for!

My sister is a teacher and she always tells me that all she gets from students is chocolate and coffee. Well I don't know a thing about coffee so I wouldn't go that route anyways, but because she can't ever seem to get rid of all the chocolate before the next occasion comes along I do my best to get something other than chocolate for my daughter's teachers. This occasion is no different.
This not what I had planned for this challenge, however with all the sick kids in my house this week, time did not allow. Hopefully I will get a chance to share it with you next week.

I tried out these flowers made with tissue paper. Stamp a background image on your tissue, crumple it up, flatten it out and then fold it up so you will stamp through 4 layers adding cardstock as a base. I then sponged all the edges of each flower. After putting a brad through all layers you can crumple the petals once again. Julie Buhler has a great video tutorial here.

We had tons of fun. If you missed it, be sure to attend the next open house!
