Stampin' Royalty #4

This is Stampin' Royalty's first card sketch.

Every time I walked to school this last week I noticed that one house had white and yellow crocus's in bloom already. How beautiful. A little early I'd say, however, it made me look forward to spring already and this paper does that too.
I have to say that these 3 colours are pretty much my favourites from Stampin' Up.

Diaper Cake!?!

I had a baby shower to go to on the weekend and I told my sister that I was going to try making a diaper cake. She looked at me with a slightly disgusted look on her face. I am sure she had some other picture in her mind than this.

What a cute way to dress up a boring gift like diapers. It even made a wonderful centerpiece on the table at the shower. The new mom thought someone had gone to the trouble of decorating a cake until she got to take a closer look. She had a bit of a chuckle.

Mojo Monday 123

I decided to make one of each. Circle and square, but I most definitely like the circle more than the square. I guess the scalloped edge adds a little something extra. Next time I think I will try adding a scalloped edge to the square!

Using the scrap rubber from my wood mounted stamps, I cut strips and outline the shape of my cutout to make the wall for the beads in order to turn this into a shaker card. Add whatever assortment of beads into the wall you have made. (I used both beads from the red bead duo.)Peel the tape back and add a layer of window sheet to contain the beads. Finally adhere the top layers of your card and shake it baby!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

One of my dearest friends recently bought a house and moved in just yesterday. I made this card for her thinking it might be nice that one of her first pieces of mail would be something other then a bill or junkmail! I've really enjoyed following this blog and thought I would give SSSC53 a try.
All the DSP used on this card is from the Welcome Neighbors Pad that you can get for free by ordering $65 worth of product from any current Stampin' Up catalogue!

Stampin' Royalty #3

A one layer card! Easier said then done. I really had to sit down and think this one through. In the end I came up with some ideas and then thought I'd look to see what others had done and found a lot of my ideas taken. So many beautiful cards. Anyways I made a few and, could not decide, so here is the one my husband chose.

But I liked this one better. But since I asked his opinion I had to show that it matters! lol.

Bandit in a Box

Anything but a card...Pals Paper Arts 26

My job-share friend has a daughter that loves to create! For Christmas she asked for a big cardboard box. How funny. But that is her passion. So the other day as we were walking into work I saw her carrying a...something. Looked like a box with the sides taped up. It was made of a piece of lined 3 ring paper. Lots of colors. She had all her pet shop toys in it and I thought nothing of it. As we were finishing she emptied it and gave it to me. She said it was for me and that it was a jack in the box. Sure enough, inside at the bottom was a folded up piece of paper, zigzag style and something pasted to the top. My mind went crazy. That night I set to work on something.

Bandit in a Box!

A Little Bit Busy!

There has been a lot going on this week in my house. Let me share... A first birthday requires more than the average birthday party. The cake has to be good, the gift must be something to remember and of course the treat bag. (I better not forget that. And if I do, I have a ton of nieces and nephews to remind me!) I try to theme my parties so things coordinate a little.

First the cake. I'm not too proud of it but it resembles her favourite stuffy, a brown bear in a pink bunny costume.

Second, the gift. She loves to sit and snuggle with her bear in any chair, so why not make her a chair of her own.

Recognize the buttons and flowers?

The treat bag. Of course a bear!

I used my Mini Tags set with coordinating punch. (That is a cool set.)

Mojo Monday 122

I think I am becoming addicted to card challenges. It forces me to step up my cards and I just love the results.

I particularly like the colors of this card although it doesn't matter which paper you pick from the new Sweet Pea DSP, you end up with
beautiful colour combos.

Here is my swap. I was inspired by Lesley and all her beautiful easel cards and had to make one for myself. It was easier than I thought which is always nice, but still looks lovely.

Mojo Monday

I thought I could use a little bit of a simpler card. I saw the Mojo121 sketch and thought I could give it a try. I'm not sure what the rules are, so I was not sure how far you can wander from the sketch. I tried to stay pretty close and this is what I came up with. A 20 minute card.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #2

What a coincidence! On Sunday my friend asked me to make for her a "purple" card and gift box. Well I'd say SR challenge this week is all about purple. I just love these colours, however I never would have thought to throw Rich Razzleberry into the mix. I think it's fantabulous!

I made this card using the coloured letterpress technique. Ink up your texture plate and put together your sandwich like normal and send it through the big shot. Voila! It's like customizing your own dsp!

The Old Made New

I have had this hat for all 3 of my girls and love the hat because it stays on and they could not get it off. Also it covers their ears wonderfully. However, even though it is pink it is terribly boring. Until now... Thanks to Stampin' Up Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flowers, this hat is something I might have to throw into the keepsake tote once it is out grown. Now I really love this hat. (Please pardon my model. She was not really into coooperating.)
