Window Sheets Again.

I was on a bit of a window sheet kick the other day and after making this beautiful and elegant Christmas card I wanted to try something different for a birthday card my mom ordered for her aunt who is turning 90! I always stamp on the window sheets with Staz-On (item #101406) and so this time I thought I'd take a different approach. I used my Manhattan Flower Texture Folder (item #114517) and came up with something new for me.

The picture definitely does not do it justice. You'll just have to trust me that it looks so very dainty and delicate. I used Always Artichoke and Rose Red. Love that Seam Binding Ribbon! So super easy to work with. Top it off by stacking a few matching buttons and a rhinestone (item #119246).

I stamped off the rose before placing it behind the sentiment. I still love this set of sentiments from the last Spring mini. They are actually the perfect size for the new Decorative Label Punch (item #120907) (a must have).

Have a great weekend!

Stampin' Royalty #43

We've got a sketch for you this week at Stampin' Royalty. Check out what the design team has for you to view here. Then play along by making your own card, scrapbook layout or 3-d project using this sketch and linking it up.

Here is my take on the sketch.

The colours I chose to use are Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla. My dsp is from Elegant Soiree (item #8117163)and the sentiment is from the hostess level 2 set in the Holiday Mini called Peaceful Season.

I used Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (item #116806) to give sparkle to the edges. The snowflakes are from the Decorative Strip called Northern Frost (item #120901). For both the sentiment and the snowflakes I covered them with Heat & Stick Powder (item #100625) and then Dazzling Diamonds (item #102023). Afterwards I sponged the edges a little with Not Quite Navy for a little break in the Vanilla. Top it all off with a bit of bling is always a good thing in my eyes! Just a few Basic Rhinestones (item #119246)!

We'd love to see your creations so come on out and play along with Stampin' Royalty!

Snowflakes on the Window!

Sorry I just had to use a little bit of play-on-words. Yes, I used the snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes (item #115438) on the Window Sheets (item # 114324). Love this effect! I also added a little snowflakes to the sentiment. I just stamped off first. I didn't want them to over power the words.

This card is for Create With Connie & Mary 121. Their elegant inspiration photo of a cake inspired me to make a simple yet elegant Christmas card with the same colours. Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Marina Mist. New colour combo to me but I love it! I used Stampin' 411 sketch #174 for this week. Another goody! I just flipped it upside down.

Pals Paper Arts 65 asked for a little extra bling this week so I also entered it there. I used the Basis Rhinestones (item # 119246) for the snowflake centers. I also added some pizazz to my Very Vanilla snowflake by Heat & Sticking (item #100625) it and then covering it with Dazzling Diamonds (item #102023). The ribbons I used are Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (item # 120992) and Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (item #120929). So glad you came to take a peek!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!

Diaper Cake #2

It's that time again for another baby shower at our church. It's a boy this time so that boy bib card I made a few weeks ago is coming in handy. I made the cake to match the card. However, I didn't have a lot of time to get it done so I went super simple.

I attached strips of Early Espresso cardstock together and then I tore both sides. Next I wrapped it around the diapers and simply attached some Marina Mist ribbons on the cardstock. I wrapped the cake in cello wrap from the dollar store and tied it up with Early Espresso Satin Ribbon. I topped it off with that sweet card and from start to finish, including rolling all those diapers, it took 1 hour!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a super day!

Stampin' 411 Sketch 173

I have been trying to get to playing with Stampin' 411 for the last few weeks but by the time I get to it Mr Linky is closed. I still use the sketches though because they are always a great way to start any card. But I finally had a little time to finish off a card I started last Thursday morning using their sketch. It's a simple one but I managed to incorporate my images within the sketch.

I started by stamping Pumpkin Pie cardstock using Baroque Motifs in Versa Mark and Clear Embossing it. Then I cut out 2 Scallop Circles with the Big Shot for the pumpkin. I curled some Old Olive strips around a shish kabob stick and layered 2 bits of Chocolate Chip cardstock for the stem.

The spider's body is a 1 1/4" circle and his head is a 1" circle. His legs are just the corner of a square punch and then I added some Dazzling Diamonds with the Two-Way Glue Pen. Glimmer Brads were a great way to make some beady looking eyes.

I cut into a strip of Old Olive for the grass and sponged the tips when I was all done to give it more depth. I also sponged the edges of the whole card for a little extra punch. The sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes that I stamped on a leftover strip of Pumpkin Pie that still had a little Baroque Motifs on it.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Check These Out!

Through stamping I have met so many wonderful people and made the best friends. Some of these ladies are now in my downline and I love sharing my paper crafts with them. Once in awhile I get a few in return. Yesterday was my birthday and it was one of the times I received some of their work. I just had to share with you these gorgeous cards I received.

Check out the technique on this one. Black Magic only she did it on white. Go figure. I think it needs a new name!

Alot of layers, ruffles and texture. She knows me very well!

Micro beads! I so miss these.

A cake for a mug in a bag! There is even a sparkler to go with it. How terribly adorable!

Aren't these cards wonderful? I taught them everything I know! LOL! Actually I will only take credit for personally getting them hooked on Stampin' Up just like me! Thanks ladies for helping make my day special. You're the best! Love ya!

Paper Players #19

Jaydee at Paper Players has a beautiful photo for you to pull some colours from this week. The colours Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White are what they are looking for. I'm up to the challenge. I haven't built up my stash Christmas cards yet and this colour combo gave me just the chance to do that.

In my eyes I went a bit of the non-traditional route with this one. If the sentiment said something else I could have very easily made this a birthday or thank you card. While speaking of sentiments you will find it funny to know that I actually can't stand this sentiment. I love the stamp! It's all swirly and beautiful but it has no meaning for me. It's Christmas and that's what I say! Merry Christmas! To one and all! Anyways it's from the hostess set Peaceful Season in the Holiday Mini. Check it out here.

You can see I dressed up the inside a bit with the same wheel the front uses. Music Notes. Being a piano teacher, it was first on my list when the new catalogue came out, however, it got lost and this is the first time I have inked it up but I love it and you will be seeing it again soon!
I also sponged the edges just like the front using Sponge Daubers and Basic Black ink.

I love this ribbon treatment. I wrapped some 5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon around the cardstock and then tied it up with a strip of Basic Black thread I cut off a piece of 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. It needed a little sparkle so I added a bit bling left over from my Easter kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Technique Club This Sunday! Wanna Come?

It's time for club this Sunday! I look forward to it every time. If you would like to join us as a regular or just drop in, contact me for more info @ We'd love to have you come out for some stampin' fun!

Here is one of the projects we are making this month. We will start off with a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock and turn it into a sweet gift bag. Not a single cut or drop of glue! How crazy you go to decorate it is up to you. I've got 3 samples here starting with fast and easy and working your way up to something that will take a little longer to finish. Each one is still an amazing hand made gift!

We will also be making a "man's" card, learning the "wet paper stamping" technique. I've been playing around with it alot lately and I just love the effect. Can't wait to share it with you!

Hope to see you there. RSVP by Saturday please!

Stampin' Royalty #41

Halloween, Halloween and more Halloween! That's our theme this week. Can you come up with something spooky for us at Stampin' Royalty? A card, a 3-d project or something made with your digital studio. We would love to see your work. Come and play along. Check out what the DT has to share with you here.

This is what I made to share with you...

Lots and lots and lots of candy corn! The Bags and Scallop Die Cut, the Pillow Box Die Cut and the Candy Wrapper Die Cut. What fun I had. For each treat, I made one with regular cardstock and one with Window Sheets. I used the colours Whisper White , Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. I actually mixed it up with a little Peach Parfait Ribbon.

The tag for this treat holder uses a Daffodil Delight Button threaded with Linen Thread. It is mounted on the Modern Label and Word Window Punch and stamped with a simple "BOO!" from Tiny Tags.

For the tag on the Candy Wrapper I stamped "Happy Halloween" from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched it out with the new Designer Label Punch. I condensed the punch by punching it smaller after I already punched it out. You will notice that some of the design is actually missing. I used a Glimmer Brad for a bit of bling!

For this last treat I love this stamp from Sweet Centers! We have had a ton of spiders around our house this year and I can totally relate to the "EEK!" I mounted the sentiment on a 1 1/4" circle, then a 1 3/8" circle and then on the Scallop Circle Punch.

Hope you join us for some fun at Stampin' Royalty!

Man's 65th Birthday

My husband's coworker had a 65th birthday/retirement party and for the first time ever he specifically requested me to make a card for him to give. I've mentioned before how picky he is but I was up to his request. I used the same technique that I made my last card for Stampin' Royalty.

I started by spraying water on some Watercolour Paper and stamped the trees from Lovely As A Tree in Old Olive. Once it was dry, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped over the same image in Always Artichoke. It gives a subtly blurred effect behind a crisp, clean image. I used a little dsp from Autumn Spice and added a little Very Vanilla 5/8" Satin Ribbon for a break in paper. The sentiment comes from On Your Birthday. The words at the top were broken up and had to be stamped using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig in order to get them lined up nicely. The words at the end were mounted on the Word Window and Modern Label Punch that had to be extended to fit the words.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

I Love My Mom

My mom is the best. She is so good to me and I love her to pieces. This card is for her. I combined a few challenges to accomplish this card. The first challenge I found was Just Add Ink and they were calling for "Just add bling and pink" for pink ribbon day coming up Oct. 25th for breast cancer awareness. My mom has actually done The Weekend To End Breast Cancer Walk for the last 4 years and she has been in the top 10 to finish each year so I thought this challenge fitting for this card. The second challenge I came upon was JUGS, which is celebrating their one year anniversary as well as breast cancer awareness month with this great sketch!

These 2 definitely fit together but I threw in one more for extra colour. Pals Paper Arts 63 challenge this week is combining the colours Pear Pizazz, Peach Parfait and Melon Mambo.

Now I was set to go!

I started with one of my favourite techniques of inking up my texture plate from Kit #4. It just adds a little pop to it! Next I pulled out the stamp set Things I Love and omitted the words below each image and added a little bling to each one.

I love this Whisper White Organza Ribbon. It is definitely a go-to ribbon for me. Usually I have a tendency to layer it with another colour but I liked it just the way it was today! I chopped up the little words "but most of all" so I could put just the "...YOU!" on my ribbon for a little accent. A little more bling all over and all done. As you can see I used a ton of dimensionals for this card. I love seeing all the layers!

Have a great day!

Stampin' Royalty #40

Stampin' Royalty has a colour challenge for you today. Join us by linking up your card, scrapbook layout or 3-d project using this colour combo!

Here is my card using the colours...

I tried out a new technique using the water colour paper. First I sprayed the paper with a bit of water and then stamped my flowers from Petal Pizzaz in Tempting Turquoise. Due to the water being present the colour bled. Once it was dry, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped the flowers again in Concord Crush. I kind of like it. I plan on trying it again using a stamp with fine lines. I think I might like it even better then! My card uses the layout from Clean & Simple this week.

Thanks for stopping by. Please join us and play along with Stampin' Royalty. Stop by and check out the creations from the rest of the design team!

Look Who's Turning 40!

It ain't me! But I sure can't wait to party with my sister who is turning 40! My mom ordered a BIG turning 40 card for her and ColourQ #52 had just the challenge to go with my card. It was almost a choose your own adventure kind of challenge.

They gave this sketch to follow and let us pick our own past favourite colour challenge. I chose this set of colours for the fact that my sister loves purple and these are just the colours to do the trick for this card.

I had to pull out some retired cardstock, dsp and ink to make this work but it's always fun to go back and play with some old favorites. Polka dots seemed to be a theme here with the dsp and also the Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

Just touch of 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon for the "40" and the Basic Rhinestones were the finishing touches.

I added just a little to the inside to dress it up a bit.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
