One Last Post

Happy new year everyone. I thought I should get in one last post before the new year. I missed showing you this milk carton that I made for all my neighbors. I've seen this milk carton on so many blogs and have wanted to make one since last year. Here is where I saw it first. I filled mine with my famous poppy cock.

Now the funny thing is that after I had made these, the Occassions Mini came out for us demos to preview and what do they have? A die cut for your big shot that is a mini milk carton. Sooooo cute. I think I will try out the milk carton holder next. This makes it super easy and just think what sweet little valentines gifts these will make.

I've Survived!

Well our house has looked like a bomb went off for days and days. We have not been home for forever it feels. Too busy. We finally had time to put together a few Christmas presents this morning. And I finally had a few moments to my myself to go and unpack my latest delivery which has been sitting on my desk for over 2 weeks. I have been itching to play and share with you the cool stuff that is coming out in January. So if you have not heard...Stampin' Up is going unmounted! I love these. And they come in great dvd style cases for super easy storage.

Plus tons of new accessories to play with.

Check out the new slim style punch. How great is that. Another easy storage solution.
I borrowed the design of this box from a co-demonstrator, Monica Chan. She showed it to us before Christmas and had it all decked out for a beautiful Christmas gift. I've decorated mine for a birthday or thank you gift.

If you have not got your copy of the new Occassions Mini or Sale-A-Bration Catalogues, contact me and I'll get them in your hands asap! You'll want to see these!

A Christmas Card That is Not Red!

So funny. I tried to get away from making a Christmas card with traditional Christmas colors. What do I do? I go and make a card that is purple and yes, green! That worked out well now didn't it. Anyways, I love this card. Tons of layers and I have to say the Petals A Plenty folder came out nice after I sponged Rich Razzleberry on it.

Cards For Kids

My mom is always putting in orders for a specific card she needs. This time it was for Christmas cards for her Sunday school class. This year she has both girls and boys so I had to make sure my cards were gender friendly. And these cards are soooo kid friendly. My daughter thought these were pretty cool. However, I can't take the credit for designing these. This is where you can find these (http://gretchenbarron.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/10/introducing-santa-and-his-sidekicks----a-brand-new-class-kit-on-the-go-and-tutorial.html). Although, the funny thing is I found them somewhere else. Anyways, thanks Sabrina for letting me know where they came from.

Technique For Sunday

Tryptch Trio is the name of this set in the catalogue. From the first time I saw this set it figured it needed some sort of special technique to make it stand out. The technique I've used here is called the Faux Stain Glass Technique. Sounds harder than it is to actually do.
Here are the steps...

1. Versa Mark image on vellum

2. Sprinkle on black embossing powder (you could use silver or gold too)

3. Heat using a heat gun

4. Flip your vellum over and using Stampin' Up markers color in your image

5. Turn it over and cut out your image

6. Mount it to whatever background color you like. In this case I wanted the wrapped baby Jesus to remain white so that is the color I chose.

Baby's First Christmas

Things have gotten a little crazy busy around here. We have been tripping over my Christmas tree decorations for almost 2 weeks. Well I finally got my tree up and took a hour to shop by myself (that never happens anymore) for my little one's first ornament. One last baby's first Christmas. I love these little crystal baby booties, however, they had the ugliest green ribbon on them. What a hideous color. So me being me figured I could look beyond the green, knowing I had something better at home, and bought them. Don't they look pretty in pretty in pink ribbon. The little silver tag says "A baby-A gift from heaven, a joy on earth." How true.

True Meaning of Christmas

I saw this video on a blog that I follow and thought I'd share it with you. Just a small reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

Super Easy Elegance!

I saw this simple card here on Julie Buhler's blog. I decided to make something similar. Actually I made two! I tend to do that. The second card is always a little different. These are simple and easy yet elegant. They only took a few minutes to make. I used one of my favourite colors, Certainly Celery and the stamp set Patterned Pines from the Holiday Mini.

Just One More

I had to show you just one more. This box uses the snowflake die. I shifted the red paper just a smidge before sending it through the big shot so it would show through the shite snowflake. I love the effect of seeing a bit of red behind the white. The window sheet gives you a sneak peak of what is inside.

I can't decide which gift box is my favourite. Hope you enjoyed these little trinkets. Let me know what you think.
